Toward European Digital Independence: Building the Euro Stack

Investment in European public goods and infrastructures is a major aspiration for the new EC mandate. Digital Public Infrastructures need to be a key piece of this – to power growth of a European innovation ecosystem, reduce reliance on foreign giant corporations, address public needs, protect rights, and support democracy. 

With a multi-party group of Members of the European Parliament (EPP, S&D, Renew and the Greens) we are inviting you to attend a major kick-off event – “Toward European Digital Independence: Building the EuroStack” – at the European Parliament on 24 September, 14.15-19.15 pm. 

The intention is to put this objective firmly on the agenda of the next Commission, with Parliament and Member States committing to pursue it. This is not a lobbying event, we are convening an exceptional group of leaders and organisations with relevant practical expertise in open digital commons such as open AI models and applications, data spaces, open knowledge tools, privacy-preserving digital IDs, and digital payments- and critical infrastructural components of the tech stack, such as cloud and data centres. We will have senior participation from the European Commission, from key European Member States, and international countries such as Brazil, India and Taiwan.
