Public values in an mHealth world

Partners: Erasmus University Rotterdam, University of Amsterdam & Tilburg University
Type: Postdoc
Duration: 2023—2026

Over the past years, the use of everyday healthy lifestyle apps (e.g, Apple Health, Samsung Health, Health Connect, Garmin Connect) has increased dramatically. What are the (potential) implications of mHealth-based ADS in the health sector; more specifically regarding the negotiation of public values among various stakeholders? (e.g., end-users, health insurance companies, prevention practitioners, & policy makers).

The project considers various stakeholders’ perspectives on personal, procedural-fundamental, and socio-economic rights. It will pay special attention to social equality and inclusion.

The project draws on a multimethod stakeholder science approach, including for example co-design, panel survey, and mobile tracking.
